If you’ve been following MichaelSaves.com for a while, you may have noticed that I like to use Ibotta to get cash back on my groceries.
I joined Ibotta in May 2014, before it got really popular, and have earned $1,800 since then.
Fetch Rewards: What you need to know about this new grocery rebate app
To be clear, that figure includes rebates from weekly shopping at my local grocery store, plus referral and team bonuses. Click here to join my team for a $10 welcome bonus.
Like a lot of cash back apps and websites, you have to stick with it to make decent money.
Fetch Rewards vs. Ibotta
Fetch Rewards is a new app I’ve been testing out. I really like it so far because it’s easier to use than Ibotta. With Ibotta, you have to unlock specific offers at specific stores and then upload your receipt. If you buy a lot of processed foods, you’re in luck with Ibotta. Rebates for fresh foods are far less common.
However, Fetch Rewards works a bit differently. You simply scan your receipt from any grocery store (including Aldi) and you’ll receive points based on the brands and products you buy. Again, mostly processed foods. It literally takes me about 10 seconds to upload the receipt as I’m unpacking my groceries.
Fetch Rewards is points-based. There are special offers that have higher point values, such as 2,000 points for a case of brand-name beer, but you’ll also earn points on about 250 national brands.
Dove on your receipt? You get points. Kraft on your receipt? You get points. Pepsi on your receipt? You get points.
So even if you shop at Aldi and only have one or two brand-name products listed on your receipt, there’s a good chance you’ll get at least 25 points from this app for that purchase.
Fetch Rewards is NOT a scam! It really works…
Once you reach 3,000 points or more, you can redeem them for gift cards to Amazon, CVS, Panera and more. My first gift card was emailed to me a few minutes after I redeemed it.
I’ve found that the points seem to add up quickly with Fetch Rewards and you don’t have to spend a lot of time unlocking rebates like with Ibotta.
Available for download from the App Store and on Google Play, Fetch Rewards has just increased its sign-up bonus to $2 or 2,000 points if you use my referral code Y2WFW.
