How to Get 3 Months of Free Phone Service From Mint Mobile
Mint Mobile offers four plans that run on T-Mobile’s network. You can choose from 5GB, 15GB, 20GB or Unlimited (40GB).
The service is prepaid and offers multi-month plans. You pay for three, six or 12 months at a time.
New Mint Mobile customers typically start with a 3-month plan that features the best pricing. This holiday promotion doubles the length of the New Customer Offer to six months.
Here’s a breakdown of the plans and pricing with the 2023 holiday deal. Taxes and fees are extra.
- 5GB/month: $45 for 6 months of service
- 15GB/month: $60 for 6 months of service
- 20GB/month: $75 for 6 months of service
- Unlimited (40GB): $90 for 6 months of service
After taking advantage of the New Customer Offer, single-line users must renew for 12 months to get the lowest pricing. Three and six month renewals are more expensive.
For families with two or more lines, Mint lets you renew only three months at a time and still get the best deal.
I’ve tested and reviewed Mint Mobile a handful of times over the years. It’s my favorite low-cost provider that uses T-Mobile’s network.

One more thing to keep in mind: Mint Mobile announced in March 2023 that it was being acquired by T-Mobile. So far, that transaction has not been finalized.
It’s understandable that users may be cautious about changes that T-Mobile could make to the service.
My hope is that healthy competition in the prepaid wireless space will keep pricing down with Mint Mobile and its competitors like Visible by Verizon, US Mobile and Boost.
