Visible 5G Coverage on Verizon's Netowrk

4 Things to Know About Visible’s 5G Network Coverage

If you have cell phone service with Visible or are thinking about switching to the Verizon-owned carrier, there are a few things you need to know about its 5G network coverage.

1. Is Visible 5G Access Available?

Visible launched 5G access in December 2020. According to its website, 5G Nationwide is available in 1,800+ cities and 5G Ultra Wideband is available in parts of select cities.

2. Where Will Visible 5G Work?

The major wireless networks have a long way to go when it comes to building out 5G, so it’s not available everywhere. But Visible customers will get access wherever Verizon 5G access is available.

As I mentioned, Visible is owned by Verizon and uses its network to provide coverage. It’s just a lot cheaper!

You can follow this link to Verizon’s website to check 5G coverage. Enter the cities where you live, work and travel to see whether 5G coverage is available or not.

In areas where 5G coverage isn’t up and running, Visible members will still have access to 4G LTE.

According to Visible, it plans to offer 5G with speeds up to 200 Mbps with its core plan. That’s pretty incredible when you consider that Visible had a 5 Mbps speed cap when it first launched.

(That speed cap was removed a long time ago. I typically get around 25 Mbps with Visible’s 4G LTE network.)

3. What Phones Are Compatible With Visible 5G?

If you want to take advantage of Visible’s 5G access, you’ll need a compatible device.

As of March 2021, the following devices are compatible with 5G on Visible:

  • Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, S21, S21+
  • iPhone 12
  • Google Pixel 4A 5G, Google Pixel 5
  • ZTE Blade X1 5G

4. How Much Will Visible 5G Cost?

Like many other wireless providers, Visible has said it will offer 5G access at no additional charge. Visible’s standard plan is $40 a month for unlimited talk, text and data.

Here’s the update that was posted to Visible’s website on October 14, 2020:

We believe that people deserve a better phone service experience, which is why we’re including 5G, with speeds up to 200 Mbps, as part of our core plan at no additional cost.

Visible’s 5G page didn’t mention anything about Party Pay, which drops the price to as low as $25 per month. Let’s hope that the discount stays around!

Final Thought

Many Visible customers are pleasantly surprised to learn that 5G access is now available. It’s better news for iPhone 12 users since they’re the first to access the 5G network and faster speeds.

But if 5G isn’t available in your area yet, there’s no need to rush into upgrading to a 5G compatible device.

Remember, 4G LTE isn’t going away. If you’re happy with the data speeds that you already have, you’ll be able to use your current device with Visible or another carrier for years to come.
