If you have cell phone service with Visible or are thinking about switching to the Verizon-owned carrier, there are a few things you need to know about its 5G network coverage.
1. Is Visible 5G Access Available?
Visible offers 5G Ultra Wideband and 5G Nationwide service. 5G Ultra Wideband provides the fastest data speeds, but it’s only available with Visible’s premium unlimited plan called Visible+.
Visible says 5G Ultra Wideband delivers speeds up to 10 times as fast as typical 4G speeds.
Meanwhile, Visible says 5G Nationwide runs alongside its 4G LTE network. It’s more widely available and comes included with all Visible plans at no additional charge.
2. Where Will Visible 5G Work?
The major wireless networks (Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile) are still working to build out their 5G networks, but Visible customers will get access wherever Verizon 5G access is available.
As I mentioned, Visible is owned by Verizon and uses its network to provide coverage. It’s just a lot cheaper!
You can follow this link to Visible’s website to check 5G coverage. Enter the cities where you live, work and travel to see whether 5G coverage is available or not.
In areas where 5G coverage isn’t up and running, Visible members will still have access to 4G LTE.
3. How Fast Is Visible’s 5G?
According to Visible, it offers 5G with speeds up to 200 Mbps with its base plan. That’s pretty incredible when you consider that Visible had a 5 Mbps speed cap when it first launched.
I tested Visible’s 5G network for five days in November 2021 and averaged a download speed of more than 150 Mbps.
Visible’s base plan includes truly unlimited data, but you should know that cellular data is deprioritized. When the network is congested, your data will be slower with Visible than other customers on Verizon’s network.
Visible’s premium plan, Visible+, should be faster. It also includes 50GB of priority data per month.
4. What Phones Are Compatible With Visible 5G?
If you want to take advantage of Visible’s 5G access, you’ll need a compatible device.
Visible says that select Samsung Galaxy, Apple iPhone and Google Pixel devices are compatible with its 5G network. You can see the full list here.
5. How Much Will Visible 5G Cost?
Like many other wireless providers, Visible has said it will offer 5G access at no additional charge. Visible’s base plan is $30 a month, and the premium plan is $45 a month.
